Falstadsenteret og Sund Folkehøgskole markerer Holocaustdagen sammen også i år. Elevene fra Sund tilbringer hele dagen på Falstadsenteret og er med å forberede et åpent arrangement på kveldstid. Elevene vil først få en innledning om holocaust og Falstads historie. Deretter vil de delta i ulike workshops. Gjennom praktisk og kreativt arbeid med foto, film, kor, temamøter, forumteater, skriveverksted, journalistgruppe og kunst vil alle involverte få anledning til å reflektere over betydningen av menneskeverd og gi uttrykk for egne tanker og meninger om dagens tema. Arbeidet vil gjøres synlig for gjester, nærmiljø og andre interesserte gjennom miniutstillinger og presentasjoner inne på senteret og i uteområdet. Arrangementet på kveldstid åpnes med en appell av forfatter Dag Skogheim og musikalske innslag i gårdsrommet på Falstad, før gjestene inviteres til å beskue resultatene av dagens workshops. Markeringen avsluttes med fakkelvandring til Falstadskogen med appell fra en av ungdommene, opplesning av en historie fra arkivet og musikalsk innslag. Gjester ønskes velkommen til kveldsarrangement og fakkeltog kl 18.00 fredag 27.januar på Falstadsenteret. Det vil bli salg av kaffe og kaker.
The Falstad Centre and Sund University College are, in cooperation, marking Holocaust Remembrance Day. Students from Sund UC spend the day at the Falstad Centre, preparing an open event in the evening. The students will first get an introduction about the Holocaust and the Falstad history. Then they will participate in various workshops. Through practical and creative work with photography, film, choir, theme meetings, forum theater, writing and artmaking, they get the opportunity to reflect on the importance of human dignity and express their thoughts and opinions on current topics. The work will be presented to guests, the local communities and other interested parties through mini exhibitions and presentations at the Falstad centre and the outdoor area. The evening event is opened by author Dag Skogheim and musical performances in the courtyard at Falstad. The guests are then invited to watch the results of the workshops. The celebration ends with a torchlight walk to the Falstad Forest, and with an appeal by one of the students, reading of a story from the archive and musical performances. Guests are welcome to the evening event and torchlight procession at 18.00 Friday 27 January at the Falstad Centre. Coffee and cakes are sold at the evening event.
